Tournament Overview

• Cost: $179 per player
• Team Buy-in: $200 per team

Flights

• 6 flights of 6 teams each, based on combined team handicap
• Each team will play 5 matches within their flight:
  • 3 matches on Friday
  • 2 matches on Saturday, followed by the Championship Derby

Divisions

• Nicklaus Division: Flights 1–3
• Palmer Division: Flights 4–6

Tees

• Flights 1 & 2: Blue Tees
• Flights 3 & 4: Blue/White Combo Tees
• Flights 5 & 6: White Tees

Format

• Better Ball Match Play for all matches
• Handicap: 12-month L.I. as of October 21, USGA recommended 90% allowance
• Strokes fall off the low man in the group; half strokes applied

Payouts

• 1st & 2nd place in each flight
• 1st–4th in the Championship Derby
• Saturday Team Skins in-flight (half pops)

• Scoring

• Scoring: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss.

• Qualifying for the Derby:
• 1st and 2nd place teams from each flight qualify for the Championship Shootout.
• Wild-card team(s) (for both Divisions not already qualified for the Derby) with most match points for Saturday’s matches will also qualify for the Derby. 
• Tiebreakers (within flights):
• Within Flights (to determine 1st / 2nd)
• Head-to-head match results.
• If still tied, the total margin of victory determines the winner.
• Division Wild Card Teams
• In the event of ties for most Saturday points, all teams will advance to the Derby. 
• Pace of Play:
• Falling more than one hole behind may result in being asked to move to the next hole, halving the current hole.
• Posting Scores:
• Match 1 is posted as a 9-hole score.
• Matches 2 & 3 and 4 & 5 are combined as 18-hole scores.

Championship Derby

• Qualifying:
• 1st and 2nd place teams from each flight, plus the top Wild Card team (ties included) from each Division qualify for the derby
• 1st Round of Derby:
• 2nd place teams from Flights 1-3 and the Wild Card play #12 from Blue tees.
• 2nd place teams from Flights 4-6 and the Wild Card play #10 from White tees.
• Format: Alternate Shot with Select Drives (both tee off, pick one, alternate shots).
• 40% of combined handicap; strokes taken as they fall.
• One team advances to the next hole and meets the 1st place teams.
• Ties settled by a chip off.
• 2nd Round of Derby:
• 1st place teams from Flights 1-3 plus first round winner play #13 from Blue tees.
• 1st place teams from Flights 4-6 plus first round winner play #11 from White tees.
• Same format and handicap as the 1st round.
• 2 teams from each division advance to Hole #18 for the final round.
• Ties settled by a chip off.
• Championship Derby:
• 4 teams play #18 with the same format (Alternate Shot with Select Drives).
• Tees:
• Flights 1 & 2: TBD
• Flights 3 & 4: TBD
• Flights 5 & 6: TBD
• No handicaps or strokes applied.
• Playing for 1st-4th place payouts.
• Ties for 1st go to sudden death on #18; other ties settled by a chip off.
• Winners are crowned the 2024 Legends.
• Food
